Chapter 14: Resist her apparent anguish


On a festive blanket of fallen leaves, Curt walked to the graveside. “To everything there is a season,” the minister had read from Ecclesiastes 3 during the ceremony, and from seeing the beauty of the forest about the cemetery, he reasoned fall was a good season for dying.

In a flurry of wind, colors of yellow, orange and red swirled about where the mourners had gathered, as if preparing to lift away his father’s soul…It was time, Curt thought, to let him go.
